1. You will get rejected a LOT in this business. As Greg said, bottom line, the odds aren’t in your favor in this business, so don’t take rejection personally. Above everything else, remember that it only takes one yes to get an opportunity.
2. Get comfortable with your voice. Work on your weaknesses, but be sure to enhance your strengths. Accentuate your unique abilities.
3. Never give up on your dream.

Three things I learned from Greg Toland:
1. You only get one shot at life, so if this is your drive/passion, don’t give up on your dream.
2. There is a lot of luck involved in this business. They could be looking for a woman or someone with blonde hair. It is important to not to take it personally. The odds are not in your favor, so you need to be able to handle rejection.
3. Those trying to get into sports broadcasting should always have a tape available. Also, be yourself and don’t every try to imitate someone else’s style/voice.
